We started the landscaping during the spring and summer. It's a work in progress.
A mulch path was installed from the driveway to the shed. Drainage is an issue because rainwater flows downhill toward the shed. The path was laid so that most of the water is diverted around the shed by a higher elevation of mulch in the front versus the sides. We still added a drainage pipe through the mulch to handle heavy rainfalls.
We added the rock beds along the sides and rear. It consists of railroad ties set in place with steel spikes and lots of rocks. This helps as a termite barrier by keeping the ground along the sides dry. The shed does not have gutters so the water naturally falls off the whole roof into the rock beds. It also keeps the siding cleaner because of less dirt splattering during rainfall.
